For the final few days of Season 55 World Communism Team raced in a handful of events in Division 3 and 4, but could not score any points or secure any results. To the exception of André Tié Bi who was able to surprise even his chairman and secure third place in Division 4 at Issippoq Nittaappoq in the very northernmost race ever entered by the outfit. Putting a final touch to a season 55 that was quite unarguably the best in the team’s history (thus far). Even exceeding in terms of results, the stats of season 50, the team’s maiden season when the squad loaded up on results from Division 11 and 10.
The team ended the season with 12 results, including 4 wins. And made history in a few ways. The team had its first ever win in Division 5, which was to be very closely followed by its second ever. The team also enjoyed its first ever official result in Division 4, which also was to be repeated for the second time during the season. And finally, the team also broke into Division 3 for the first time ever.
The results per rider went as follow:
Kuumba Rusesabagina. Had his most accomplished season yet. And lived up to the hopes placed in him by the team. The rider recorded two wins at goto heaven race and Monaco Nocturne. And another two results in the WT for the Tanzania national team as he got third place in both Minas - Montevideo (WT) and Auckland - Hamilton (WT). The Tanzanian also scored points at Nibe - Løgstør, and Várzea Grande - Barra do Bugres with top 9 finishes. As well as in Brno - Trnava, a stage of the Cesko-Slovensky Pohar. The man also spent most of the season in his National Jersey, until he was unseated by a newcomer coming through the ranks.
Addis Gebreselassie continued to be a valuable captain for the team, thanks to his very balanced Hilly Climber profile. The Ethiopian did not win this season, but came second on no less than three occasions, at Smederovo - Arandelovac (Bukulja), Santa Cruz - Port of Spain and Bongoville - Moanda, and also got a result with a 6th place in the GC at the Cesko-Slovensky Pohar. At the Cesko-Slovensky Pohar the Ethiopian also scored points with stage results with two 4th places in stage 1 and 2. This rider also spent large portions of S55 in his National jersey before being taken over by a newcomer.
Michel Ngabo also had success this season, with a win to his name in Várzea Grande - Barra do Bugres right at the beginning of the exercise. And third place finishes in Doha - Umm Bab - Doha and Lanark - Hamilton.
André Tié Bi was arguably the revelation of the season, as the young Ghanaian picked up his very first two official results with a 8th place in early Division 5 Classic Classico di Siracusa, and then very late in the season got third place in Division 4 at Issippoq Nittaappoq. The young rider also picked up points at Libreville Grand Prix, Caves and Lifts Crit, and at BD Aalborg Gadeløb. Those result giving him the Ghana National Jersey for the first time in his young career.
Farouk Dingi was also a novelty for the squad, as the usual luxury teammate was used as a captain a few more times this season. Entering this exercise having never scored a point for the team previously, the South African opened his tally with an all surprising win in Alrededor del Lago Ypacaraí. The first ever Division 5 win for the team, no less.
Isa Ilubala surprisingly completed the picture after joining an early breakaway in Elverum Grand Prix and taking an all unlikely 9th place and score his first points since Season 51.
